V-Measures introduces V-CUT, a highly advanced water-cut meter, WCM, delivering high accuracy water-cut measurement over the entire range 0~100%. Our technology employs multiple techniques such as Electrical Impedance and Photo-Luminescence in identifying the presence of water in total fluid flow. It also uses high frequency data acquisition and analytics incorporating Data Validation and Reconciliation, DVR techniques in achieving higher accuracy. These features along with real-time data analysis and high-speed computing offered at highly cost effective manner, enables end-users in having more measurement points on the field and thereby giving extensive visibility and optimization in the field production.
V-Cut integrates multiple sensing techniques like “Photonics” and “Electrical Impedance” in the measurement of water Liquid Ratio, WLR. Electrical Impedance/Capacitance exploits the significant difference in dielectric properties between oil and water. The net capacitance of the 2-phase media is measured by transmitting a radio frequency voltage across the sensing elements. The net capacitance is directly related to the water-cut. To increase the accuracy of water-cut measurement, photonics is also employed as an additional data set. Water and hydrocarbon generates distinct signature with light and a specific spectrum is selected that has higher resolution to differentiate these two matters. High-speed real-time data acquisition and validation of generated datasets using Data Validation and Reconciliation, DVR will further enhance the measurement uncertainty of WLR.
